Garage conversion
We were introduced to a family with 3 teenage boys in a 3 bedroom house. They were desperate for more indoor space and also wanted to get their house out of the 80s time warp.
The garage had already been partly converted, in that there was a stud wall covering the garage door, laminate flooring had been laid and a radiator installed, but it needed to be brought inline with building regulations to create a safe bedroom space.

We took one look at the conglomeration of doors and realised that a change was needed to give everyone more space to move around and to allow more light into the area.
We blocked up the original garage door and opened up a new opening at the far end of the garage to create a practical, interesting series of nested doorways. We removed all the door frames and unnecessary doors, which immediately gave the hallway and dining room more space and light.

To maximise the space in the new bedroom, we fitted a pocket door, which simply disappears into the wall when opened. We even took into account the size of a wardrobe when deciding on the size of the window to go in. It’s little details like this that make us different.
The old dado rails were removed from the dining room and hallway, walls were skimmed, the artex ceilings were removed and replaced with a smooth modern finish and our customer followed our advice and chose a lovely muted green to help bring the outdoors in and create a fresh, light environment.
I would like to thank you for the exceptional service that we have received from all of you at Sensibuild during the past few months. Good old fashioned customer service based on solid values and integrity is the basis on which I have built my business and it has been a pleasure to find this mirrored in your own business.
Your vision and enthusiasm, carried through by Stewart, has transformed our home into a truly beautiful space. Stewart’s eye for design and colour has proved invaluable and I am very glad that I trusted his judgement.
During the first week of work Stewart said to me, ” What makes us different is that we care.” A more true statement he could not have uttered. We have experienced care and support from your company that we would not have expected. Stewart won my deepest affection and everlasting loyalty when he went out of his way to deliver my birthday cake to my BNI meeting when I forgot it at home!
A true measure of a man’s character is determined in the face of adversity and it was during a problem on the job that the depth of your teams’ commitment to customer care and satisfaction truly shone through. I will continue to recommend Sensibuild with great confidence…
